Camp's Description The Bethany Soccer Camp summer program, started in 1974 to provide soccer instruction to soccer players between the ages of 8-18,is one of the best soccer camps in the Eastern United States. The camp coaches emphasize individual skill improvement, team tactics, sportsmanship, nutrition and conditioning. The daily schedule provides for individual skill exercises, team strategies and evening games. In addition, there is a "Games Day" which includes an obstacle course, penalty kicks, shooting, goalkeeping competitions, and team development activities.
Bethany Soccer camps are designed to provide a balance of skill, tactics, and game experience. Each week provides specific instruction and soccer activities according to age group, skill development, and game awareness. Players are assigned to training groups according to skill and age, and they play nightly on a camp team which is coached by a Bethany Camp Staff coach.
The Bethany Coaching staff introduces campers to dozens of innovative and practical team concepts. The "Dutch Game," the gauntlet, mirror images, advanced Annandale progressions, musical warm-ups, rhythmics and flexibility exercises, goalkeeping wars, and Keegan drills are some of the most memorable for players.
