Camp's Description

Camp Cedar Point is a special place for girls to meet new friends, have new adventures, and explore the beauty of the Shawnee National Forest all in a caring, supportive environment.  At camp, girls live in rustic cabins or platform tent units with others who share similar interests.  Campers take an important role in planning the week's events, focusing on a common theme and goals along the way.  Session themes include nature exploration, water sports, horseback riding, crime solving, art, drama, and more!  Our carefully selected staff help foster the campers’ experiences with games, songs, and activities designed around each unique group.  We believe that living and playing together teaches leadership, teamwork, and compassion, which we value among our campers and staff.  Each session includes swimming time, art, environmental studies, and outdoor cooking.  Girl Scouts and Non-Girl Scouts welcome!

I have gone to camp for 10 years and have enjoyed it so much. The people are great and the site is awesome. Go Fern Gully Trail! Go Tall Timbers! Camp is a great place to spend a summer. I cannot wait to help campers enjoy their time and become return campers.

Camp Cedar Point- a wonderful and fulfilling experience March 15, 2007

Camp Cedar Point is a beautiful camp, and it truly feels like home. I've been going to summer camp sessions for 8 years, plus family camp, numerous Me and My Gal weekends, several fun days and open houses, and many more. But even though I have been there many times, the overwhelming free spirit and beauty of the camp always takes over me each time I enter the pines and cabins. Camp has always been fun, with caring and understanding counselors, amazing activities, Girl Scout values, and just the whole thought of the freedom a girl can get out there. I am always proud to mention Camp Cedar Point to my curious friends, and I love to talk to my camp friends I have met over the years. Cedar Point is also a haven for lasting friendships. Every year, when Girl Scout Week rolls by, my mother and I proudly wear one of our Camp Cedar Point shirts- whether it be the 50 year anniversary yellow or the fun tye-dye! (usually, i go for the tye-dye!!!) I am going to camp this summer as well, hopefully for two sessions because I cannot pick between the Canoe Adventure or the Native American History session. Camp is all about meeting new challanges and facing new adventures. I hope to work as a counselor there someday, and I will always feel at home in the lodges of the pine forest, in a shiny canoe headed toward the Jumping Rocks, or under the star-studded sky hearing the stories of Perseus, Cignus, and Apollo. I LOVE CAMP CEDAR POINT!!!!!

I went to Cedar Point when I was a girl. It was the best experience of my life. I learned to become independant and I can't even begin to tell you what it did for my self esteem. I will be sending my girls to Cedar Point in a couple of years when they are old enough. I am so glad that the camp experience is there for my girls.
