Camp's Description

Camp Kateri is located on two lakes with 525 acres of beautiful forested land in northern Florida. We offer a variety of living accommodations from platform tents to cabins or tree houses. Our camp programs are, on average, 1-week in length from Sunday to Friday. Campers are girls 7-17 with approximately 100-150 campers each week. Mini week, 2-week, and Mother/Daughter programs are also available. Camp Kateri is a traditional resident camp with strong horseback riding and aquatics programs and includes other general camp activities. Our equestrian program offers English and Western riding and focuses on safety, learning and fun. Our aquatics program includes canoeing, kayaking, sailing, waterskiing, swimming and river tripping featuring skill development, safety and personal enjoyment. Other camp activities and programs include caving, campfires, archery, crafts, outdoor cooking, leadership and CIT programs, nature activities, drama, dance, skateboarding, bicycling and climbing. Our staff believes that camp is a partnership with parents to promote the individual growth of each camper. We strive to develop courage by providing exciting new program opportunities and encouraging independence through decision making and the personal care of self at camp under the supervision of trained camp staff. We encourage confidence through the development and application of skills, group leadership opportunities, making new friends, and a successful completion of a week at camp. The development of character is accomplished through interpersonal relations with campers and staff from solving a dispute with a cabin mate, and learning to live, work and play with a diverse group of people. All of these skills are transferable to life outside of camp and enhance the camper’s ability to be personally successful and make the world a better place.
