If you are over 30, why deal with the cold and snow of a Chicagoland January when you can be a member of the Chicago White Sox at their Spring Training headquarters in warm and sunny Tucson Arizona?
It's time you become a member of the Chicago White Sox for a full week by being on the Major League roster of the Chicago Fantasy Baseball Camp!
Chicago White Sox Fantasy Camp celebrated it’s 23rd anniversary in 2008 by having it’s 14th consecutive sell-out year. The current camp, run by Chicago Fantasy Baseball Camps, Inc., which was conceived by White Sox partners Jay Pinsky, Aaron Michaelson and the remaining members of the Nightcrawlers™, hosts approximately 100 campers each year, men and women alike, who become pitchers, catchers, center fielders or home run hitters, all while wearing an official White Sox uniform with their name and number of their choice.
Upon arriving in Tucson, each camper stays in his or her own luxury suite at the Radisson Suites in Tucson for 8 days and 7 nights. In addition to playing 9 fun filled baseball games during the week, campers are feted to an incredible gourmet lunch buffet each day in the clubhouse, along with an Opening Night banquet, a mid-week "Chicago Style" cookout which is usually attended by the Chairman himself, Jerry Reinsdorf, and the always humorous Closing Awards banquet.
Throughout the week, Campers receive great surprise gifts, including their own baseball cards, special edition bobble head dolls, coats, wristbands, hats, and all rookies receive an extra special gift that will be a life time keepsake.
Accommodations, food and gifts aside, being a Major Leaguer is the key and the week is capped off with the "Big Game" where the campers face the former pros in the Spring Training home stadium of the Chicago White Sox - Tucson Electric Park. It’s always a great way to end a week of being a White Sox player, especially in those games where the campers beat the pros!
Each camp has 8 teams that play each other during the week and each team is managed by at least 2 former White Sox greats. Over 70 former White Sox players have participated as managers and coaches at past camps, including Harold Baines, Bill Melton, Tom Paciorek, Ron Kittle, Bobby Thigpen, Carlos May, Greg Walker, and Bo Jackson, to name a few. Often times, current Major and Minor leaguers show up. Special guests also stop by to try their hand at being a Major Leaguer. At Camp 2005, Super Bowl XX quarterback, Jim McMahon, found out that throwing a football is easier than hitting a baseball. Jim loved Camp so much, he came back in 2006 and 2007 as a "Special Assistant Coach." You never know who may be lockering next to you when you’re on the roster at the Chicago Fantasy Baseball Camp!
Why not plan to put on the "Silver and Black" next January as a member of the Chicago White Sox Fantasy Baseball Camp. For additional information, call Aaron Michaelson at 630-654-2600 or send an e-mail to:
