Camp Chanco is a residential camping experience for boys and girls 8-18 years old as an outdoor, age-appropriate program of the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Virginia. It offers young people an enjoyable camping experience in a beautiful outdoor setting within a supportive, fun-loving community.
The residential camp program offers:
climbing-skill classes on our ropes course developed by professors at the College of William & Mary
waterfront and pool activities including swimming, canoeing, kayaking, and sailing instruction
nature photography instruction
arts and crafts classes
archery classes
introductory golf classes
basketball, volleyball, botcci ball, etc.
Chanco has developed a variety of trips off-site to challenge the adventure seeking camper. Camp Chanco is a community of fun and faith. It is a place to dream a dream; to take a risk; and dare to make a friend. Are you ready for an adventure this summer? Are you ready to meet new people, see new sights, and experience new things? We offer online registration so that you can join us in the woods and on the river at Chanco on the James!

This was the first overnight camp. He stay there for 12 days and love every minute of it. He has been looking forward to go back for an whole year. He is counting the days down to returning. The staff at Camp Chaco is loving and caring people. Excellent camp. And it only cost 58.00 per day for 13 days.....I strong recommend this camp. My only dislike was the pick up time and it was on a odd day. But, this has been adjusted this year.
