POWER THROUGH SPORTS is a comprehensive sports, academic, and life skills program for student-athletes and adults aspiring to achieve greater results in their chosen sport, in the classroom, and the game of life. Our commitment is to provide you with the highest quality leadership and instruction by emPOWERing you THROUGH SPORTS.

PTS Summer Basketball Camp is co-ed for children ages 5-14 with a camper-to-counselor ratio of 8:1. Campers will be taught by experienced and skilled high school coaches. The camp day includes 2 games, multi-stationed fundamental instructions, fundamental (individual & team) competitions, and camp speakers. Camp speakers include NBA/WNBA players, present and former college players from University of Maryland, University of North Carolina, George Mason University, and George Washington University (among others). Speakers will also include present and former high school and college coaches.

Camp Directors Duane Simpkins and Brian Bobo are experienced teachers and camp clinicians who love to work with children.

Coach Simpkins is a highly touted instructor who played for DeMatha Catholic High School where he was a McDonald's All America and two-time Parade Magazine All American. Later as a collegiate player, he helped lead the Maryland Terrapins to two consecutive Sweet Sixteen appearances. He finished his career playing professionally in Belgium, France, Italy, and China. Coach Simpkins has spent over a decade instructing young men and women at camps, clinics, and personal training events. Presently, Coach Simpkins is the Head Basketball Coach at St. Albans School in Washington, DC.

Coach Bobo is former player at St. Albans School who later played at Catholic University. Upon his graduation, Coach Bobo began teaching and instructing young men and women in basketball. He has been coaching for 12 years at the high school level at both Flint Hill School in Vienna, Virginia and Georgetown Day School in Washington, DC. Coach Bobo has organized youth teams, camps, clinics, and personal training events for the past 10 years both locally and abroad in Italy, Puerto Rico, and Senegal.
