Camp's Description
The YMCA of Honolulu started bringing youth out to the camp property in 1926 for weekend camping and leadership programs. In exchange for using the property owed by Walter Dillingham the YMCA youth planted trees around the North Shore . In 1931, Harold Randolf Erdman, nephew of Walter Dillingham was injured in a horse polo accident and died a month after the injury occurred. Erdman was only 25 years old at the time of his death and was married and had a very young daughter less then one year old. Shortly after his death the Dillingham and Erdman Family gave the property to the YMCA and requested that the camp be named after their son and nephew Harold Randolf Erdman.
