Camp's Description
A Different and Traditional Camp??—You bet! For over 80 years, Brown Ledge Camp has delivered its unique summer camp program to girls on
Brown Ledge offers superior instruction in over 18 activities; including theatre arts, horseback riding, watersports and landsports. Our girls have a habit of “doing” and “achieving”. Since they choose what activity they want to do and when they want to do it, girls find they often surpass their own expectations in their abilities.
Take a look at our website for more information on how we are a traditional, residential girls summer camp but with a distinctive twist.

She had a blast, made new friends, tried new activities, and felt like a winner doing it all! The counselors were very impressive--many hailing from top colleges and with great expertise in their activities as well as dedication to the campers. The JCs provide a tremendous warmth and spirit to the camp and they made my daughter feel that she was joining a sisterhood with an impressive array of traditions, songs and special events unique to Brown Ledge. My daughter was initially attracted to the camp for its equestrian program and she came to camp with show experience and was able to improve her riding, try eventing, and be on the Drill Team--an 83-year old tradition! She was also happy to be part of the plays and try new activities such as riflery and watersports. The camp's unique philosphy of allowing the girls to run their day--choosing how they spend their time--empowers them and gives them a great sense of freedom. My daughter is a self-directed person and spends the school-year working hard and has a highly scheduled life, so being able to direct her time for a month was great for her. She came back home with a new sense of independence. Brown Ledge is a warm and loving place with family-style meals and daily counselor-time. My daughter felt safe enough to take risks and was never homesick. She became very close with her bunkies and grew as a person. I am grateful for such a optimal experience! She will surely be going back!
