Camp's Description

Come and explore Wahanowin. A place where friends return each summer to rekindle the magic and spirit unique to Wahanowin. For half a century, our commitment to outstanding service and quality has enabled us to create an environment where children learn, grow and flourish. Discover the ultimate summer camp! Wahanowin is located on a 150-acre campsite along the shore of Lake Couchiching, just 90 minutes from Toronto. Though a short distance from the city, the camp is nevertheless secluded from urban noise and pollution. The crystal clear waters of Lake Couchiching provide some of the best swimming and boating in Ontario. Camp Wahanowin is committed to providing a safe, enjoyable and exciting experience for all campers in our care. The opportunity to gain new skills through activity involvement as well as life lessons from community living and staff guidance is a fundamental aspect of our philosophy. We strive to meet each camperís individual needs and provide and atmosphere whereby they can flourish. As the needs and interests of campers evolve, so does Wahanowin. We remain committed to providing the best possible experience for social development and growth, while maintaining quality, excellence and innovation in our program and facility. We aim to go above and beyond your expectations.

Kids seem to like it but facility is horrible! July 25, 2010

"For half a century, our commitment to outstanding service and quality........". As a parent whose daughter spent her 2010 summer at this camp, all I can say is the above quote from the management of Camp Wahanowin is a sad joke. The kids' cabins should be condemned! My daughter's cabin is crowded, has virtually no windows and calling it filthy does not begin to describe the condition of her daughter's accomodations. Bruce: Time to spend some of the budget on replacing ALL of the cabins that have not been upgraded and cleaning up the dining hall, or your "Loyalty" program will fail. Yuck!
