In 1981 Harford Lacrosse Camp was founded on the premise that every young man between the ages of 6 and 17 that wanted to learn the skills of modern day lacrosse would be given the opportunity. And now, after 25 years and over 4,000 campers, HLC is recognized as the premiere instructional camp in the world of lacrosse. A girls camp was added in 1999 offering the same philosophy to young ladies from ages 6 to 17. The key word at HLC is "teach". It is an instructional camp with a 6 to 1 camper to coach ratio for players at all levels from beginners to high school All-Americans. The staff is comprised of some of the finest college, high school and recreation coaches in the greater Maryland area. Prior to playing any games, the campers receive 2 1/2 days of intense, small group or one on one instruction during 3, 2 hour, sessions a day. Competition between equally drafted teams takes place the last 2 1/2 days of camp as the instruction continues under game conditions.
