Camp's Description Camp Mowglis (pronounced 'Mow' as in cow, 'glee') is a 7 week residential summer camp for boys ages 7-14 that has been providing a quality personal growth experience since 1903. At Mowglis we foster personal growth, character development, and community building in a safe, fun and wholesome environment. The Mowglis program runs from approximately the third week in June to the middle of August and generally accepts between 70 and 85 boys per summer, with 25 to 30 staff.
We offer a broad spectrum of traditional activities for personalized instruction, ranging from sailing and swimming, to camping and Axemanship. In addition to the standard fare of activities (16 in all), Mowglis is committed to engaging each boy in a comprehensive outdoor adventure program, and offering regular and thorough instruction in the uniquely cooperative sport of Crew. Our diverse program allows for a wide range of choices within our structured environment, and our Trip and Crew Programs set us apart from many other summer camps.
Our traditional activities, Crew instruction, and outdoor adventure make up the backbone of the summer experience, but it is our focus on personal growth, character development, and community building that makes up the spirit. Our program is as valid now as it has been for 100 years, and we will continue to help shape tomorrow's leaders by giving today's youth a solid foundation of competence and character.
