Hi there, I am the new Director here at Camp Wathana in Holly MI and I feel compelled to write after reading the reviews above. I totally understand the frustration that has been felt by people in the past when it comes to our previous administration. But I would like to take this opportunity to reassure you that things are and have changed in a big way at Camp Wathana! We are heading in a direction that will bring us back into the community and offer what every camp should...a safe and fun environment for our kids to be in. I encourage you to check out our new webpage campwathana.org and even contact me with any questions you may have. I look forward to hearing from folks both old and new. See ya soon! Neil ;)

The new director at Camp Wathana that is starting tomorrow is awesome. He is creative, thoughtful and all about making sure the children at camp have a wonderful experience. You are very lucky to have him on staff.

Unprofessional Senior Staff

Let me first state that this is a beautiful traditional summer camp and it is such a pity that it is so poorly run. I applied for the position of Camp Director with wathana and was OFFERED the job. I asked to negotiate salary, but they instead hired someone else without notifying me that they were even retracting the job offer. Both myself and a colleague were the top two candidates for the position, he also was not notified by the camp that he was unsuccessful. The manner in which their "so called" hiring process is conducted is quite frankly nothing short of unprofessional. I have also recently found out (after being told their was no housing for the Director) that the Directors house was being resided in by the executive...so yet another false statement. It is fair to say that I had a lucky escape and I feel sorry for the new director having to put up with such unprofessionalism...by the way, you were the 3rd pick for that job...sorry. That being said; the camp itself is beautiful...just a pity those in charge don't know what they are doing.

This camp does not have a very professional way of dealing with it's patrons. We were NOT very impressed.
