Camp's Description
This year the camp will be entering its 22nd year of operation. It was created and established to provide high school players in the state of Minnesota with an intense instructional and competitive setting where they would be exposed to different philosophies regarding positional and team play. The underlying goal of MODEL camp is to provide an accelerated experience, so a participant will increase their skill level and understanding of the game. This will help them become a better player, which in the end will improve the competitiveness of high school hockey throughout the state. The camp also provides participants with the opportunity to display their talents to NCAA member institutions at the Division I and III level. Since its inception, over 250 players who participated at MODEL have received scholarship offers from Division I institutions. This year there were over 200 Minnesotans who played Division I hockey and many more who have gone on to have very good careers at the Division III level. Participants also display their talents to representatives from the United States Hockey League and the National Hockey League scouting staffs.
