I am a Los Angeles based theatrical lighting designer, who has had the joy of working with this wonderful company for three years. Each year the camp attendees come back, their talents grow immeasurably, and my respect for this company grows as well. New participants find open arms and a nurturing family that welcomes everyone, regardless of experience. I work with many Los Angeles area youth theater programs, all great in their own right, but CCLO is by far the most outstanding!!! Definitely consider this program!!! Recommended without reservation!!!

Children's Civic Light Opera is the summer camp my son has been participating in for 7 summers now! We love it. He has learned so much, not only about theater and how the pros put on a Broadway musical, but also about collaboration and supporting each other in the process. Diane Feldman is a gift - the kids adore her - she's like a kid herself, with boundless energy, wit and true love of the craft and the kids. They can tell that she is for real and they can't get enough of her. Garrison has been accepted into the Los Angeles County High School of the Arts in the Theater Department (highly competitive) and primarily due to all he has learned from Diane. I truly cannot say enough good things about her and her program. She is the only kids company I know of who has a live orchestra for performance weekend. She takes children's theater to a fully professional level and it shows in what the kids bring to the stage - they can tell that they are being given a serious opportunity and they take it seriously and perform their hearts out. It is fun, educational, extremely rewarding. COME JOIN US!!!!!

I was 12 years old when I joined the CCLO family and for the past 15 years it has been a huge part of my life. I learned the value of being a part of an ensemble instead of focusing on getting the lead role. I gained confidence that has transfered over into landing jobs and becoming a successful business woman. I formed friendships that have lasted for over 15 years. I wouldn't be who I am today without CCLO. Any child no matter their performing background will gain so much from the CCLO experience. I can't recommend this summer program enough. It will change your child's life forever!
