Camp's Description
Hockey Opportunity Camp (HOC) is located on beautiful
Our hockey instructors are hired for their personal hockey experience, coaching and instructional background. All campers take home a written evaluation based on their development over the week. In addition to hockey, there are a number of water and land activities available to campers. Each camper participates in two (or four depending on the program) instructional activities. Activity options include waterskiing, mountain biking, archery, outdoor adventure, kayaking, snorkeling, boardsailing and in-line roller hockey. With each camp activity, campers work through a series of skill progressions allowing them to achieve award levels and/or participation certificates.
The HOC experience provides campers with the opportunity for personal growth, friendship, individual challenge and improved self-confidence -- all in a safe and enjoyable camp environment. Our tradition of excellence is built upon the strength of our staff. Each staff member brings with them commitment, enthusiasm and compassion for children. The main lodge of camp serves as our social centre and dining room. Meals are arranged by a professional caterer who specializes in the camping industry. Our chef prepares well-balanced meals including fresh breads and desserts, baked on-site.
Meals are served family style and are all you can eat! Given the intense activity levels of our campers, meals are of high nutritional value. Campers live in cabins housing between 8-10 campers. Each cabin is supervised by a counsellor who sleeps in a separate room within the cabin. Female and male cabins are located at separate ends of the camp.
