I've been an instructor with ID Tech for 2 years now and it has been the best job that I've ever taken. The only way it could be better is if I could teach all year round. After the end of camp I look forward to next year because the experience keeps getting better and better. All of the staff that I have worked with love the job they are doing and do it extremely well. Each of them is very knowledgeable in the fields that they teach and have a real passion for sharing that with others. We love to see the smile on the kids faces when they create something they could only have dreamed about before. The kids are awesome too, they are there to learn their course materials, but thats not all the camp offers. It is a great learning environment, fun and upbeat, many different activities to help the students learn and have fun. This a great camp for the all kids, from the quiet reserved to the outgoing and adventurous and anyone in between. I wish I knew about this camp when I was a kid.

ID Tech at SMU October 20, 2009

The SMU ID-Tech camp is wonderful for any parent who has a child with artistic and technical interests. They have a ton of different types of courses that the campers can take from several different types of programming, game modding, graphic arts and even robotics. There is also a great camp environment in which campers are encouraged to work together, and by the end of the week even the most shy of campers has made friends. The instructors are knowledgeable and very enthusiastic about the courses they teach. There is also a lot of individual attention given to each camper because all groups are kept small, never more than eight campers to one counselor. All counselors are required to have up-to-date first aid and CPR training. The campers don’t spend all day in front of the computers there are several times throughout the day where everybody goes outside for some fresh air and games. The SMU campus is very accommodating and for those campers who choose to sleep over the dorm rooms are basic and are kept very clean. The ID-Tech program strikes the right balance of learning and summer fun; I would highly recommend this camp to any parent who is looking for a summer program that will encourage their child’s creativity and interest in technology.
