| My 9 and 12 year old girls had an "awesome" time at Camp Runels
this summer. It's a traditional girl scout camp - nothing fancy -
but the staff is great and make everything fun. They offer
"sampler" programs for girls who may not be ready for a full week
of overnight camp, and many of their programs for middle-school
and high-school girls offer off-site programs for adventures all over
New England. Lots of variety, and your daughter doesn't need to
be a member of a Girl Scout troop in order to attend Girl Scout
summer camp. |

| This camp is a very nice woodsy, outdoor adventure camp.
They have a beautiful lake, and The kids get to go boating, swimming, nature walking, hold animals, and more!
Plus, You get the kids way from their play station 3s, Nintendo DS, and their cell phones (these things are not allowed) For funfilled adventure for either 6 or 12 days at a time.
The food is wonderfully healthy, as is the drink (no Soda allowed). The only concern is if your child gets homesick, but usually the counselers help the kid to deal with it by talking about their hoe with the child.
All around, camp runels is a wonderful experience for 7-17 year olds! |

| My daughter went for overnight camp in the Blazing Saddles program this summer. She just turned 8. She had an amazing time and her favorite part was riding the horses, although since it was only 3 times during the week, I will assume that she loved it all! She tried new food (which she won't do at home) and she tried new activities. This is a Girl Scout camp and the security was very good both dropping off and picking up. The counsellors were great. I would not hesitate to send her again or recommend, as long as the child is okay to be away from home (she had a friend that was there and got too homesick to enjoy herself, but she also would not try any of the activities, so she might have enjoyed herself despite the homesickness had she been more participative). |
