| My brother, sister, and I all go or have gone (until they were too old) to camp deer run/ brookwoods. We all LOVE it!
I look forward to camp ALL year because I have so much fun there.
my camp memories are filled will sailing, water-skiing, friends, hilarious games each night!
The facilities are PERFECT
each cabin is beautiful, and has showers, sinks and bathrooms, windows with curtains and each night in your cabin feels like a sleepover with friends for life.
The beach at camp is beautiful and sandy. The water is CRYSTAL CLEAR!!!!!!!!!! no weird brownish water, or gross seaweed.
every day is FILLED with activites NON STOP
it is so well organized and the food is delicious!
every other night you have store, and get to eat candy, slushies, and soda!
there are so many acivities and every night there is a realy fun activity
i recommend it to EVERYONE

Truly A Wonderful Experience, Mar 21, 2009

| If any parent or guardian is reading these comments to
see if they think their children should go, LET THEM GO! This
will be my third summer in july 09 and i truly can't say enough
about the place. All the faculties (ranging from the boat house
to the cabins, dinning hall, and bathrooms) are all kept
immaculate and cleaned daily. The food is very good quality for
a camp(most camps that make food in such bulk don't use the
healthiest of ingredients, or buy extremely low-quality meats
and never fresh produce {to save money}. Also some-place's
don't offer much of a variety at every meal) but at camp they
buy high quality meats because their "healthier" and always
allow food options to campers and staff at every meal. The
cabins are cosy and well maintained. Each has two sinks,
toilets, and showers. The camp offers over 5o activities that
people can choose from( from water aerobics to dirt biking).
Each session (two weeks) every cabin goes on a hike on some
of the nearby mountains. Depending on the age group the hike
range from 1 day+ night hike, to a 3 day + 2 night hike etc.
(the older the cabin the longer the hikes) The religious aspect
of the camp is excellent. They don't force religion down the kids
throats, but offer great resources for the growing christian. I
can't say enough about the staff, each staff member is hand
picked and aren't just the 16-year-old teen looking for some
extra money for the summer. The councilors are rarely
younger than 19 years old and most of them have been going
to camp for 5 or more years. They have always been people i
look up to and are clearly picked for there great personalities
and strong morals. In each cabin their is always two councils,
and about 10-12 girls. Over the years camp has taught me
respect for my parents, friends and my life. This appreciation
does not just occur within the first week of coming back home
it stays with me for the rest of the year! This camp has
changed me in the biggest of ways. After i've done something
good i think that god and others would be proud of me for i
think of camp. I think of the wondrous property, my cabin
friends, and most importantly my councilors from that previous
summer who had guided and helped me to become a better
person. With each good decision i make the first thing that
pops into my head : CAN'T WAIT FOR NEXT YEAR ! This camp is
over 50 years old and ACA Certified (american camp
association). I just love camp and i think many other kids will
too. ;) |

my third summer in july 09 and i truly can't say enough about
the place. Every summer when i get back from camp i have
better respect for my parents, friends and my life. The facilities
are clean and maintained, food is very good(sometimes places
that make food in such of a bulk tend to go for less
expensive{lower quality} meats, less fresh food, and limited
meal options) food at every meal is quite the opposite! The
cabins are fairly sized and cosy. The councilors are always one-
of-a-kind and they are not a bunch of 16 year old high school
kids just needing some extra cash, the camp hires staff no
younger than 18 years old(though that young is rare) and
each is hand picked for their personal qualities. They have
always been their to guide and look up to and are always
outstanding people. All activities around camp are all closely monitored by staff and always include all the necessary safety precautions. This appreciation does not just occur within the
first week of coming
back home it stays with me for the rest of the year! This camp
has changed me in the biggest of ways. Everyday i try to
include the unincluded in my school or try to be friends with a
new person,or even when i have a disagreement with a friend i
try to just let it go. After i've done something good i think that
god and others would be proud of me for i think of camp. I
