A Safe Fun Evangalistic Camp for Your Child or Teen, Jun 15, 2012
reviewer: Linkin04 from Lisbon, NH
Camp Good News located in Charlestown, NH is a fun, loving, and safe environment for your child or teen. This camp gives children of all backgrounds the chance to learn about The Lord, as well as make lasting friendships, in an atmosphere that is packed with so many activities and choices that your child will never want to go home. My son's first year was last year, and I was nervous (not about the camp) but it was his first experience in a residential camp, and he didn't know anyone. We got there and looked around, and in ten minutes he had made a friend and didn't even care that we were leaving! The camp counselors are loving and fun, not to mention that they must go through a rigorous application process to make sure that they are right for the job. Don't let the price intimidate you, this is very cheap for all that is provided to your child and is half of the actual cost of running the camp for the week. You can't put a price on this camp experience. I have recommended this camp to others who are going this year, and my son is going again as well, he gets campsickness, not homesickness. He just can't wait to get back to Camp Good News! From my knowledge the kids remain campers for life, once they go one time. I would recommend this camp to anyone, and especially for your child's first experience at a residential camp.

Camper to Counselor, Jan 19, 2012
reviewer: Ange33 from New Hampshire
"3 Cheers for Camp Good News" was a popular song that we would shout towards Mt Sylvester as we waited to go into the dining hall. Even now, upon meeting an alumni, it is not uncommon to break into song, reminiscing of younger days. Camp Good News has my heart and was my second home from 1988 to 2003. I started as a camper and transitioned to a counselor. I have such great memories of singing camp songs around a campfire, the awesome friendships I made, and as a counselor, the positive impact I made on children's lives. Even the "old pool" with its cement walls, muddy floor, and icy water has a special place in my heart. (There's a lovely new pool now, perfect temp!) Camp life and the people who worked there helped make me the person I am today! I definitely recommend Camp Good News in Charleston, NH!

Great staff, Aug 17, 2011

These counselors are well-trained. This camp has a stringent child-protection policy: background checks, references, training. The camp is old, but clean and well-kept.
