Easter Seals Camp Wawbeek

Located on 400 beautifully wooded acres near Wisconsin Dells, Easter Seals Camp Wawbeek provides camping experiences for children and adults ages 7 and up with physical disabilities, cognitive delay and other disabilities. There is always something to do and everything is wheelchair accessible. There is boating, fishing, hiking, swimming, basketball, painting, ocstacle courses or you can try flying through the air on a zipline! For campers of all ages, there\'s time to relax, talk with new friends and hang around with people who love and respect you for who you are.  In the evenings you\'ll enjoy dances, roast marshmallows and sing around the campfire.

There is a registered nurse living on-site and one counselor for every four campers. He or she is trained to meet your special needs--whether that\'s helping with personal care or cheering you on as you sing Karaoke. Camp Wawbeek offers specialty weekends in February and March. Throughout the summer there are six and twelve-day sessions for different age groups. Pick the one that is right for you and come have some fun!

Wawbeek Week-Long Sessions

Youth Session
Kids and Teens ages 7-18 with physical disabilities
June 24 - July 5
July 8 - July 13

For all kids, camp is about being outside, pushing their limits, and goofing around with new friends.  For the kids at Camp Wawbeek, it often takes on a much deeper meaning.  At camp, each individual’s disability disappears.  Kids begin to realize what they can do, not what they can’t.  They start to build confidence, test their abilities, and become more independent.

Transition Team
Young adults ages 16-25 with physical disabilities
July 15-20

Teens and young adults take over part of camp for one session each summer!  These campers are bold, adventurous, opinionated and full of life!  As they face a challenging young adulthood, trying to find ways to be independent, Camp Wawbeek is a place to test new limits and swap stories with others.  Transition campers will stay over night at one of the University of Wisconsin Campuses and explore their accessible housing and programs; visit the Madison Transportation Authority to learn about the public transportation system and top the day off with dinner and a movie.  Campers will learn how to organize a night on the town and what is takes to make sure that all their needs are met at the same time.  This is a great new way to learn about the transition that parents and teachers are always talking about, but adding the cool twist of camp, recreation and fun; after all, isn’t that what young adulthood is all about?!!
