WE ARE THE U.S. ARMY CADET CORPS!

Have you ever repelled off a platform 50 feet in the sky? Challenged an official U.S. Army 21-station obstacle course? Crawled stealthily through “the bush” during paintball exercise? Tested your physical and emotional strength, while working as a member of a tight-knit team? Learned the basics of leadership, as taught to U.S.Army Non-Commissioned Officers? Experienced the camaraderie of training with other young people who are interested in learning about our country’s military? All of this could be available to you by attending one of the training programs conducted during the U.S. Army Cadet Corps' Military Adventure Camp.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

All Cadets MUST be crime-free, drug-free and doing well in school.  We are NOT a delinquency program.

SUMMER PROGRAMS

Basic Cadet Training (BCT)

This two-week adventure is often known as "Boot Camp."  Basic Cadet Training is physically and mentally demanding, with heavy emphasis on personal accountability and teamwork.  Each Cadet Recruit is assigned to a platoon of 18-25 Recruits lead by a Cadet Troop Handler and trained by a qualified Drill Sergeant.  Cadets will learn military drill and ceremonies and be challenged like never before!  Upon completion of Recruit Training, you will earn the title "Army Cadet," and will have earned the privilege of wearing the Army Combat Uniform at a formal graduation.  Newly recruited Army Cadets participate in BCT during their first summer.  A Recruit who does not have a burning desire to graduate will not make it through the program.

Basic Leader Course (BLC)

An intense three-week program for graduates of Recruit Training. BLC provides advanced orientation in basic leadership, troop leading procedures, risk assessment, land navigation and field training, marksmanship, self-defense and team-building activities.

Cadet Ranger School (CRC)

An intense three-week program for graduates of Recruit Training. CRC provides the most advanced exposure to life in special operations than a Cadet can receive anywhere.

Cadet Military Police Academy (CMPA)

An intense two-week program for graduates of Recruit Training. BLC provides basic orientation in military and civilian law enforcement.

Officer Candidate School (OCS)

Phase I (Adults age 18+ only)

An intense 9-day course of instruction which provides Officer Candidates with an introduction to basic military subjects and leadership fundamentals, including training in military drill and ceremonies, customs and courtesies, inspections, leadership, communication skills and standards of conduct for  commissioned officers. ACA-specific training will include Cadet Protection Policy Training, new unit formation procedures, unit administration, supply and procurement, training techniques and internal communications. OCS Phase I is required for commissioning in the ACA Officers’ Corps. To graduate from OCS Phase I, the candidate must pass personnel and room inspections, demonstrate proficiency in military drill and ceremonies, and pass the OCS Proficiency Examination. Failure to pass all criteria for graduation from OCS Phase I will result in ineligibility for OCS Phase II.

Officer Candidate School (OCS) Phase III

(Adults age 18+ only)

An intense 9-day residential training program which provides Officer Candidates who have completed OCS Phase II with advanced information on military subjects and leadership, professional ethics, program management, and administrative and communication skills. All applicants for the ACA Officers’ Corps, regardless of background, must complete Phase III or the Officer Basic Course (OBC). To graduate from OCS Phase III, the participant must complete Drug Demand Reduction Facilitator Certification and pass the OCS Proficiency Examination.  Candidates who are 21 or older, upon completion of Phase III will normally be commissioned at OCS graduation with the approval of the Director of the Leadership Development Institute.  Each graduating candidate will be reviewed for initial appointment based on motivation, leadership, physical appearance and other factors.  Failure to pass all criteria for graduation from OCS Phase III will result in ineligibility for commissioning or advanced initial appointment.
