Weird Director Nov 25, 2008
reviewer: George from
Great facility and activities. The counsellors were great. The camp director is very strange. My son enjoyed himself but the director reprimanded him for not being "serious" enough. When I went to pick him up, the director pulled me aside and said my son said something "very inappropriate" at the last bonfire. My son said (and confirmed by his cabin counsellor), "I'm really thankful I lost 5 pounds and I look forward to stopping at the first McDonalds and gaining it back." Wow, what a terrible thing to come out of a 13 year old boy's mouth. Apparently the director expected him to say something deeper and meaningful. According to my son most of the counsellors were telling the campers to ignore the director and have fun despite his attitude. I'm not trying to be too defensive, and I understand the need to maintain order. But having spent many years as a youth coach, young boys say goofy things sometimes. One other point, the "cabins" are unscreened lean to's. The mosquito bites can be terrible.
