Not up front about it being a Christian camp Jul 17, 2009

I saw my daughter mid-week at the Intensity Drills and she told me that she was uncomfortable because it was "really Christian." (They don't want the girls to bring cell phones, and when I stopped by to see her on a different day, my daughter was on another campus--so this was the first I had talked to her.) I was stunned. I had signed her up for a volleyball camp, not vacation bible school. I went home and looked at all her registration paperwork, the blog we had been referred to, the general website, and there was nothing about it being a Christian camp. Finally after hunting around, I found a reference on the general website to it being based on Christian values. My daughter has been raised Catholic, has a diverse group of friends, has been exposed to a number of religious traditions, and she was quite uncomfortable with the heavy Christian tone of the camp. I'm LIVID that it was not clear that this is what I was signing her up for.
