Camp Website

Camp's Description

With two complexes: first in Aberdeen, MD and now in Myrtle Beach, SC, Ripken Baseball offers a wide variety of programming nearly every month of the year. The Youth Academy in Aberdeen features 8 grass fields, while The Ripken Experience - Myrtle Beach, which just opened in June 2006, boasts 7 world class FIeldTurf baseball fields.

The range of programming at Ripken Baseball is very diverse and includes:

  • Summer Camps
  • Youth Tournaments
  • Adult Fantasy Camp - The Ripken Minor League Experience
  • Winter Programming
  • Showcases and Advanced Skills Camps
  • Coaching Clinics

Ripken Baseball instructional programs combine the wisdom of Cal Ripken, Sr., and his teachings with the 33 years of major league experience accumulated by both Cal Ripken, Jr. and Bill Ripken, creating memorable baseball experiences for youth players and coaches alike.

Keep it Simple - Young baseball players must crawl before they can walk and walk before they can run. Teaching that is too complicated is difficult to remember and can result in frustration.

Make it Fun - Learning doesn't have to be tedious. Drills and instruction are structured so players enjoy themselves while learning.  Games also promote fun and are an important part of Ripken Baseball programs.

Celebrate the Individual - No two players are alike, so why should they be treated as if they are? Each player has his or her own comfort zones, strengths and style. Individualism is promoted as long as certain fundamental approaches are followed.

Explain Why - "Why" is a young person's favorite question. Young players have an innate need to understand the reason behind the teaching. Lessons that make sense will stick with them.

Cant go wrong with them November 08, 2006

The Ripkens are such class guys, and that was the main reason I sent my son to the afternoon hitting camp. These guys have done so much, for the community, creating this program, and youth leagues - only makes sense to have my kid go to one of their camps. I have been such a fan of Cal for so many years that I was probably more excited about it than my son, especially since hes to young to know much about them. But he really enjoyed them camp. I though the staff was excellent. It was not the cheapest around - ended up being like $200 for 4 days worth. But I think the individual attention and staff made it worth it. They did a good job handeling the different age of kids and different skill levels. We will use another Ripken camp next year - they have a few different types. Go Os!
